The Office of International Programs (OIP)
Established at UNC Charlotte in 1975, the Office
of International Programs strives to strengthen international
education at the University as well as in the Charlotte community. On campus, it
seeks to make international understanding and global awareness a fundamental

Opportunities and
Services for Students
UNC Charlotte students have numerous
opportunities to engage in international
experiences, education, and travel while earning
their degrees. These opportunities range from
meeting and having coffee with UNC Charlotte's
international students to spending a semester or
academic year in another country while earning
course credit, and a dazzling variety of
activities in between. In addition, the Office
of International Programs and its colleagues
offer a number of services to university

Resources for Faculty and Staff
The Office of International Programs offers a
variety of opportunities for faculty and staff
development in the international arena.
Opportunities for faculty include faculty
exchanges, international travel grants,
faculty-led study abroad programs, opportunities
to serve as guest lecturers, and opportunities
to add international components to the courses
you teach. Both faculty and staff can benefit
from the variety of international events and
speakers that OIP and its partners bring to

Programs, Speakers, and Events
A wide variety of international
programming is available throughout the year to
all members of the campus community and the
Charlotte region. Attend lectures by
distinguished international speakers and
speakers on international topics through our
Great Decisions and International Speaker Series
programs. Celebrate diversity and learn about
the world though by participating in
International Women's Day, International
Education Week, and the International Festival
events. Honor achievement in international
education and scholarship though the UNC
Charlotte Mu Chapter of Phi Beta Delta. For
